Data export and deletion

Your right to take your data with you, and your right to make us forget it.

Last updated May 11, 2026

The data in your prospiq account belongs to you. You can take a copy of it whenever you want, and you can delete it whenever you want. Both rights are unconditional — they don't depend on your plan, your billing status, or our approval.

Exporting your data

You can export your prospiq data at any time. The export includes:

  • Your profile — name, email, account creation date, plan history
  • Your search history — every lookup you've run, with timestamps and results
  • Your saved lists — list names, contacts in each list, list-level metadata
  • Your bulk job results — every CSV upload and the verified results returned
  • Your API usage — if you're on Pro, a log of API calls and credits consumed
  • Your team membership — which teams you belong to and your role

How to request an export

For most cases, you can export individual saved lists directly from the app as CSV — that's the right tool when you want to push data into your CRM or sales engagement platform.

For a complete account export (everything above, in one archive), email support@prospiq.net with the subject "Data export request" from your account's email address. We'll prepare the archive and email you a secure download link, typically within three business days.

Format

Account exports are delivered as a ZIP archive containing:

  • A README explaining the structure
  • JSON files for structured data (search history, account metadata)
  • CSV files for tabular data (saved lists, bulk results)

The format is designed to be machine-readable and human-readable. You don't need a special tool to inspect it.

Frequency

You can request a full export as often as you reasonably need to. We don't enforce a hard limit, but if requests become unreasonable (multiple full exports per week from the same account) we may ask what you're trying to do — usually there's a better workflow.

Deleting individual data

You have control over what stays in your account without deleting everything:

  • Delete a saved list — removes the list and all contacts within it from your account
  • Delete a bulk job — removes the upload record and its results
  • Delete a search from history — removes that lookup from your history view

Deletions are immediate. There's no soft-delete or recycle bin. Once gone, the data isn't recoverable from our active systems.

Deleting your entire account

If you want everything gone — profile, history, lists, integrations, all of it — you can permanently delete your account. See Deleting your account for the full walkthrough.

Account deletion is irreversible and immediate. We can't restore a deleted account even with your permission.

What persists after deletion

A small set of records is retained even after account deletion, for specific reasons:

  • Anonymized verification cache — verified contact data is held in our internal verification system without identifying which account produced the lookup. This makes future enrichments faster and more accurate for everyone. The cache cannot be reverse-engineered to identify your specific lookups after account deletion.
  • Financial records — invoices and tax-relevant data are retained per applicable tax law (typically seven years under Indian GST).
  • Security audit logs — sign-in events and security-relevant actions are retained for a short period after deletion, then permanently purged.

None of these contain your saved lists, search history, or stored contacts.

Erasure under GDPR / DPDP

Both of the laws that govern this — GDPR Article 17 and the corresponding DPDP provisions — recognize a right to erasure of personal data. The mechanisms above are how prospiq satisfies those rights.

If you want a formal erasure response (acknowledging the legal basis, confirming what was erased, citing exceptions) rather than a casual confirmation, say so when you submit the request and we'll provide one. This is sometimes needed for compliance audits or DSAR responses on your end.
